Markets and data

Know the market before you start a report

This page answers a practical question: which listings can be researched, how to enter them, and where the data stops. Coverage is driven by an admin exchange whitelist, normalized listing identity, and configured vendors—not by a promise of global or real-time markets.

These ten venues are the first-party analysis seeds. A venue only becomes researchable after it is enabled in the deployment whitelist.

Markets, venues, and known limits

Use this table to check whether your listing belongs to a seeded market and what constraints usually apply. Status means “seeded when enabled,” not “guaranteed complete vendor coverage for every field.”

How to enter a listing

Preferred input forms by market

Enter a public listing identity—company symbol plus exchange—not a provider-internal code. The product normalizes the listing first, then routes vendors.

United States

US ticker or exchange:symbol

Plain tickers like AAPL usually resolve on major US boards. Add the exchange when the same letters could collide.

AAPLNASDAQ:AAPLNYSE:IBM

Hong Kong

Always qualify Hong Kong numbers

Use a dotted or exchange-prefixed form. Do not treat a bare 700 as a complete identity.

0700.HKHKEX:700

China A-shares

Keep the board in the symbol

Shanghai and Shenzhen codes can look alike as six digits. The .SS / .SZ or SSE: / SZSE: qualifier removes the ambiguity.

600519.SS000001.SZSSE:600519

Japan

Tokyo listings need the exchange

Prefer 7203.T or TSE:7203 so routing does not guess the venue.

7203.TTSE:7203

Taiwan

Qualify Taiwan board codes

Use 2330.TW or TWSE:2330. Confirm whether the listing is TWSE or TPEX before starting.

2330.TWTWSE:2330

Evidence limits

Time and data boundaries

A report is only as trustworthy as the evidence window. These four rules stay visible across research jobs and published reports.

Analysis date is part of the claim

Every job records the requested analysis date. Prices, filings, and news are interpreted against that date—not against whatever happens to be newest when you open the report later.

No look-ahead in historical analysis

Historical runs must not use later prices, filings, or news as if they were already known. When a source cannot be safely bounded, the field stays unavailable instead of being invented.

Quotes show as-of time

Desk quotes and report snapshots include source and as-of time. They may be delayed. Delayed does not mean live market data, and live is not promised on this site.

Missing data stays missing

If a vendor fails or a field is empty, the report marks the gap. Modules that did not run stay unavailable. Silence is preferred over filler.

Instrument identity

Resolve the listing before the debate

Research starts only after ticker, exchange, and asset identity are normalized. Provider formats are an implementation detail after that public identity is fixed.

Read the ticker and exchange guide

Identity checklist

  • Company name, ticker, exchange, and asset type belong together.
  • The same letters can mean different instruments across venues.
  • Provider-internal codes are not the public listing identity.
  • Compare reports only after the identity fields match as a unit.

What this page does not claim

Outside the current research seed

Clear exclusions prevent the coverage table from being read as a marketing promise.

  • No promise of global market coverage or every exchange in the catalog.
  • No promise of real-time or zero-latency quotes.
  • Crypto venues are not part of the default equity analysis seed set.
  • No brokerage connection, order routing, or account funding.
  • Upstream TradingAgents experiments are not automatically enabled here.

Practical use

Before you start research

A short verification path reduces false starts caused by the wrong board, closed exchange, or mismatched date.

  1. 01Confirm the company, ticker, exchange, and share class you intend to study.
  2. 02Enter an exchange-qualified form when the market uses numeric codes or shared tickers.
  3. 03Check that the venue appears in the enabled exchange set for this deployment.
  4. 04Set the analysis date you want the evidence bounded to—not only today’s date by habit.
  5. 05If a quote or module is missing, treat that gap as part of the result, not as noise to ignore.

These pages explain how evidence dates, research roles, and published reports fit together.
